Cumbria Dinner
The Cumbria Dinner took place on Friday 3rd May 2019 at Armathwaite Hall, Bassenthwaite Lake, near Keswick.
Armathwaite Hall is an impressive venue to hold a dinner. The architecture is grand and the decor inside is comfortable but opulent.
The evening began with a champagne reception prior to the meal and we were met at the door by Simon Steele, the Manager of Armathwaite. Simon is an OSB and we were delighted that he was also able to attend the dinner.
After the reception we moved to the Lime Trees Suite, our private room for the evening, where dinner was served. The meal was of excellent quality and great value for money and included wine. We were given a good choice of starter, main course and sweet with a vegetarian option and the presentation was lovely. Even the fussy/plain eaters amongst the guests found something to their liking. We all really enjoyed the whole experience. The excellent staff and service made it the most memorable meal I have organised since taking over as Secretary of the West Coast Branch. We enjoyed it so much we have booked again for next year!
Many thanks to Simon Steele (FS 85-89), the Manager at Armathwaite Hall, for coming up with the idea and making it possible and also to Leeann Lennox-Burrough, Sales and Marketing Executive, for all her hard work so that the evening ran smoothly.
